The Most Important Document when Collaborating with Engineering and Product
There are many theories around the most efficient ways of collaborating with others as a designer, a lot of which we have put into practice at Phorest.
However, as a one-man design team, I find it totally healthy and not-at-all damaging to maintain a record of those who have wronged you throughout your time at each company — snide comments, unhelpful feedback, and downright bullying.
I’ve shared my list below if you need ideas on what should or should not make your list.
John, “Developer”
- “What’s so good about it?”
- “You’re a bit mental, aren’t you?”
Cahir, Product Guy
- “Looks a bit manky”
- “Shadows don’t look right”
- “Maybe then we could afford a proper designer”
- “There’s something wrong with you”
- “He has the mind of a mentally impaired child”
- “If we just wanted to copy [competitor], we wouldn’t need you.”
- “You’re the most infuriating man I’ve ever worked with”
- “You’re gonna feel the pressure on this one with your hacky little copy paste sh*t”
- “I’ll probably never say this again… that’s a great idea….but….. I don’t like you”
- “You’re such a f**king loner… f**king lose bag”
- “[I need] a top class designer, and not a total f**kwit”
Sarah, Dev with attitude problems
- “What the f**k is that?”
- “I can’t make it, but if I could, I wouldn’t be on your team”
- “Stee doesn’t need to be in our group”
Paddy, Director of Taking Credit
- “Less talky more drawy“
- “There’s definitely something wrong with you”
Pawel, Remote Guy
- “Can I ask for a better designer?“
Fred, French Guy
- “I blame the designer“
Rob, not sure.
- “You colour stuff in for a living”
Karol, guy with a girls name
- “…can’t believe they give you money for this”
😒
Would you tolerate a work environment like this? Because we’re hiring
